Thrilled to announce that I've been chosen as a consultant to UNEP and MoEF&CC providing technical support to create a national level analytical report on Lifestyles for Environment (LiFE) and recommend a framework for developing principles and indicators on LiFE with potential for replication at global, national, and decentralised levels.
The first impromptu brainstorming session was held on December 30th, 2022 at the Lake Conference organised by the Centre for Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science (IISc). I am grateful to the Convenor of the event, Dr TV Ramachandra, who made it happen during the conference. The experts were identified, a beautiful outdoor space was chosen, tables and chairs were organised and we were set!

This trans-disciplinary team consisted of 16 experts, including 3 students, with specializations in diverse areas of Ecology, Biodiversity and Conservation, Recovery from Waste, Zoology, Remote Sensing and GIS, Geo informatics, Psychology, forest taxonomy/ plant ecology/ urban biodiversity, settlement planning, resource management, SDG in built Environment, app and analytics, bio-technology, Oxidative Stress and Aging, Skill Development, and Environmental sciences.

The enthusiasm about Project LiFE was palpable and it was an exciting and stimulating two hours. I could not have asked for a better start as we deliberated on various initial aspects of the project. Every one of us is eager to contribute to the knowledge base of LiFE. Stay tuned for more information!
